I Love It When a Plan Comes Together

Well, another blog and status update on our launch night on March 7th, and this one to announce that our Special Guest Performers for the evening will be acoustic roots duo Pete and Paul. We first met P & P at Tonbridge Calling last summer when "Flitt & Folio" were performing their poetry. They were on the main stage just ahead of us, and we were struck by the wonderful harmony of their combined guitar and mandolin. If you haven't heard these two instruments played together then you really should - it's a beautifully rich, warm sound, and their playing and vocal harmonies really ring the best from both. To be honest the lyrics of their songs went over our heads at the time because we were far too busy worrying about getting our own words right, but when the duo put in an appearance at Scallywag's open mic we were able to appreciate the full package, and were delighted to find their humour and sharp observation for the ironic and absurd segued so nicely with our own. We look forward very much to having them as our special guests and as willing collaborators for several numbers in our own singalong finale. We're sure you will enjoy them too.

IN OTHER NEWS: Much to the horror of local residents, a HUGE poster of The Gluten Free Trio's event announcement has appeared in Scallywag's window, courtesy of John and team. This was a complete surprise to us, but we are very, very chuffed, and will almost certainly be fighting over ownership of it at some later date. We now wait to see which one of us will be defaced first, and whether tomatoes from the display outside the small grocer's on the opposite side of the road will be involved. We are also told that tickets for the event are selling well, so please DO book in advance to secure a ringside seat and avoid disappointment.
